It’s New Year’s Eve, 2023/24. Welcome to this week’s NYE Sunday Peace Talk Special.

I’m just coming out of a deep emotional swim.
The undercurrents carried me out to sea. All was foggy and bleak. Hopelessness and dissapointment blanketed my inner landscape. Grief.
Its waves rolled through my life this week for three days, starting on the full moon, Dec. 26th. Looking at the current astrological dynamics, another thing that stands out is the energy of Jupiter in its final retrograde pause before thrusting forward again today. This carries weight in my psyche.
As a student of astrology and energy medicine, I learn how to navigate emotional and collective cycles by exploring the relationships between cosmic and bioenergetic systems in myself.
Having the knowledge of these systems helps me maintain contact with the aspect of Self that is the neutral and wise compassionate observer. By consciously witnessing myself go through these heavier emotional moments, I gain deep understanding about the stories that are connected with emotions like sadness.
I shared what I’d been feeling this week in a video in my online support group for women creatives and healers. One woman reflected that it’s been a ‘whopper’ for her too. We can be baramoters for others when we speak to each other about our inner, usually unspoken, experiences. Many times this creates a form of therapeutic universality. Sometimes it helps when we don’t feel alone in our type of hurt.
People tend to have a difficut time accessing and communicating their emotions. Sometimes this is due to trauma, cut off from emotions early. Sometimes people are afraid they’ll be a burden to someone else or maybe they’re just embarraseed to talk about emotional distrubances. For various reasons, people tend to have a limited grasp on why we feel what we feel. It’s hard to put words to emotions, but then again once we access what we are feeling, stories begin to come out.
I’ve seen first hand in thousands of clients’ sessions as well as in myself and with others interested in personal growth and self development, that if we can go deep into listening to what our emotions have to tell us, we can access an even deeper energy holding everything together. The Soul. Underneath the layers of these stories we have about ourselves is a bigger energy.
That is where peace resides. This is why we must not deny our true feelings. We must give them space to be felt, time to be understood, and room to breathe. If we do this, there is peace to be found. If we allow all the fear to come, all the pain to come, its energy can move through us and then out. These waves of emotional energy need to move.
If we stifle them or lie to ourselves, the energy will not move. Therefore we become stuck in the quagmire of anxiety.
Once things move, instantaneous insight becomes available and quantum understanding comes through. The symbolic, metaphoric, and mechanistic understandings of how we operate become more accessible once we get out of the way of things.
Meaning, stop trying to figure it all out or analyze it. Feel it, welcome the higher self Soul energy, call on your highest guidance to be with you, and just go through it. Don’t try to feel better.
I know that sounds crazy. I hear a voice asking: “But what about the Law of Attraction?” I’m not saying dwell on the pain forever. But what I am saying is that sometimes it’s not always better to try and feel better. Much of the time, it’s better to just allow whatever you’re feeling to be there. Dive into it like a dolphin. Let it wash through you. Do alot of breathing, go into it knowing it is a wave and that there is always another side. Even if it take a while.
On the other side is clarity. You may feel changed.
Breakthdown tend to bring breakthrough. You may feel that you want to release a part of yourself, something you thought you wanted to be. The clearout will release the old. And that can also feel sad. A loss of what you were.
So the nature of life is this. Endings and Beginnings. Continually. And as humans we experience this as grief. Sometimes we fight to hold on to the old because we don’t want to face the pain of loss. Maybe we invested alot of time and money, love and enrgy to create those structures in our lives. But now we realize it’s time to move on from those ways of being. Time to become the new version of you.
But that’s scary too because you don’t exactly know what that is. It’s not here yet.
So you walk. You walk the path. You get back up, You cleanse, You bathe, You walk. You write. You dance. You yoga. You art. You meditate. You pray. You relate. Whatever you do to reaquaint yourself with life once the dark night of the soul has passed.
This month, I advise you to take it slow. Be in reverence for the transition out of the last cycle and into a new one. I am easing into it so I don’t miss out on this moment now. Let’s not be so quick to rush into the new, the next. The old is still trying to slough itself away. Be aware of that. There is much to glean here on this side of all that.
If there have been disappointments or you feel things didn’t go your way. Give that part of you some love and understanding. Then forgive the past, release it. Let it go. And now we pause. It’s still the in-between time. The next view is not in full sight yet. Don’t force it.
Whatever the flow is in your life right now. Follow that. Mercury is going direct right now. Start exploring and dreaming, looking at the view. Get the outline of things going, knowing things could change at any time! It’s time to trust the intuitive flow of things. Let that lead the way.
This month’s new moon on Jan. 11th will be a great time to start getting more details filled in for the next moon cycle. Then on the 22nd through early Feb. you’ll feel some momentum building. So for now, let’s reflect a bit more and integrate slowly into 2024.
